The Grit - E-MTB excursion on Gran Canaria

Steady climbs and exhilarating downhill rewards! A challenging eMTB adventure!

Upon arrival at the Free Motion Hub in Playa del Inglés, we proceed to check-in before preparing ourselves and our eMTB bikes for a 20-minute transfer via minibus and trailer. Our eMTB tour gets underway in the charming oceanside village of El Pajar. To warm up, we navigate a series of gentle hills through the picturesque town of Arguineguin, before venturing off the beaten track and immersing ourselves in the first climb of the day. Ascending along a dirt track that gradually transforms into a thrilling singletrack, we are greeted by breathtaking views as we traverse the terrain. Turning south, it’s time to shred the descent back down towards the ocean!

Once down, we embark on our second, more challenging ascent towards Palmeral Noruego, also known as Norskeplassen in Norwegian. Once again, we are rewarded with some great singletrack as we work our way up along the plateau. The pinnacle of our journey sits 538 metres above sea level. Here, we pause to catch our breath and admire the awe-inspiring views. Having gained elevation, our focus shifts once more to the thrill of the descent. We navigate some exciting singletrack, with many features providing technical challenges, as we make our way back to Arguineguin and the local XCO track on the outskirts of town. For those still brimming with energy and battery power, a lap around the track awaits. If you’re bonked, just relax and cheer on your fellow riders. From the XCO track, we set off on a brief section of tarmac.

This leads us to Arguineguin, where we pause for a well-deserved lunch break. Replenished with newfound energy, we embark on another short stretch of tarmac, including a cheeky climb, before returning to the dirt trails that take us back to Maspalomas. Following the captivating coastline, we’ll ride up and down a series of ravines, before reaching more populated areas, and finishing off with a few kilometres of tarmac down to Playa del Inglés. This is where we conclude today’s eMTB tour with some well-deserved refreshments!

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY (TD): Most of the ride is TD1, with some TD2 and TD3 sections in the middle. (See the Technical Difficulty scale for details.)
FITNESS LEVEL (FL): A High-FL is required for this MTB tour. The ride has many climbs, most of them are relatively long and/or steep, you can use as much or as little e-assistance as you wish!. (See the Fitness Level scale for details.)
