The Grand Canyon Adventure - Mountain bike excursion on Gran Canaria

Spectacular mountain scenery, steady climbs and fun descents! Light lunch included.

After the check-in at the Free Motion Hub in Playa del Inglés, we start today’s MTB tour with a gentle 12km warm-up on a winding tarmac road up through the beautiful Ayagaures Valley.
Arriving in the village of Ayagaures, it's time to hit the trail! Initially, we continue straight north, deeper into the valley. The MTB dirt track we are following comes to a dead-end eventually, but it's well worth the ride, since we will experience some spectacular nature along the way. Returning on the same track, we arrive in Ayagaures where we stop for a short lunchbreak and restore our energy levels.
We then ride up the hill to the east and enter into what we call the Grand Canyon region. This is a spectacular area with mountains, ravines and breathtaking views. We make our way along a dirt track and across 3 ravines before reaching the Fataga Valley.

Descending on a singletrack, we head into the small hidden village of Arteara before climbing up onto the tarmac road. Now, we take on the last challenging MTB climb of the day as we ride all the way up to the Mirador Astronomico de la Degollada de las Yeguas. This lookout point will stun you with its amazing views of both mountains and ocean - a just reward for all our MTB climbing efforts. From here it's pretty much all downhill! We follow the fun singletrack trail, built by local MTB enthusiasts, down to San Fernando and then across to Playa del Inglés, where we conclude the day’s MTB tour and can enjoy some well-deserved refreshments!

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY (TD): Most of the ride is TD1, with a few shorter TD2 sections towards the end. (See the Technical Difficulty scale for details.)
FITNESS LEVEL (FL): A Medium-FL is required for this MTB tour. The ride has many climbs, some of them are relatively long and/or steep. (See the Fitness Level scale for details.)
