Ride through peaceful mountain villages and fragrant pine forests, breathe in the fresh air and taste local tradition on quiet roads far from the crowds.
This guided road tour is for cyclists who can comfortably ride for a couple of hours, have some experience with steady climbs, and feel confident on descents.
It takes you to a quieter, less-visited part of the island with green forests, calm valleys, and quiet roads, a fresh perspective from the busy south.
Tour route:
We start in Playa del Inglés where a shuttle takes us to El Pagador, the true starting point.
From there we begin a gentle climb along quiet backroads through farming villages.
The route passes through Fontanales, a charming village among green hills and pine trees; you can spot the ocean around the corners.
Next we descend into Moya, a town on a cliff known for its white church and traditional pastries; we’ll stop at a local café to try some.
From Moya we ride through Barranco de Moya, a deep valley with rich plant life and volcanic rocks.
Along the way we visit Cenobio de Valerón, an ancient Guanche cave site used to store grain; one of Gran Canaria’s most unique historical spots.
