We always recommend that you reserve a bike in advance, especially during high season. This is to ensure that the requested model is available in your size. Reserving a bike ahead of time also speeds up the pick-up process because the bike will already be ready and prepared for you.

For our rental bikes, we can provide SPD, SPD-SL, Look Keo, and normal pedals included in the rental price. If you need another type, please bring your own and our mechanics will be pleased to mount them on your rental bike.

We do not deliver our rental bikes to the hotels and accommodations.
Please collect your bike from one of our shops where we can provide the best possible service in adjusting and fitting the bikes.
You also need to complete the paperwork and settle the payment in the shop before collecting your bike.

You can pay your deposit either by credit -or debit card or in cash and we will refund it in the same way you paid for it.

We expect all clients to be able to fix a puncture. For mechanical breakdowns we provide an emergency service. Please contact us at +34 928 777 479.

Yes, by Spanish law, you need to wear a helmet when riding your bike on open roads and outside the urban area. You can rent a helmet for a one-off fee of 3€ (1-2 rentral days) or 6€ (3 or more rental days)

Bus drivers are not obliged to allow bikes on buses – it depends on the driver. This is, however, not usually a problem.

We differentiate between two opening times: winter season and summer season.
During the summer season our shops our closed on Sundays. Click here for more details.

Yes, we sell road riding maps in our shops and are happy to give you advice.

Free Motion provides a shuttle service for some of our guided tours. If you need a private shuttle please book a transfer with a local taxi firm.

The wearing of safety vests is only a recommendation but not mandatory. If you ride in the dark or through tunnel bike lights front and rear are required by law.

There are only a few cycle lanes in the city area. All cycle routes into the surrounding mountains are on open roads and shared with other road users. We ask all clients to observe the rules when riding in traffic.

Please store your rental bike in your hotel room or apartment overnight and never leave it unattended even when locked whilst out on a ride. Please check with your hotel directly to ensure you will be able to store your bike safely

Please select your bike of choice on our website and click on “Info & Booking”. Enter your rental dates and height to start the online availability search.

Please bring your own shoes and cleats, we do not have any shoes for rent.

All bike rentals start on the morning of the first rental day and you need to return the bike before closing time on the last rental day. A collection the evening before is not possible for logistical reasons. We do not know when the bike will be returned by the previous client and all bikes are then washed and serviced before we transfer them to the shops the next morning.

During our high season, we need a minimum of 3 consecutive rental days for all advance reservations. If you would like to rent a bike for 1 or 2 days/ tours only, please come to one of our shops the day before to make a reservation and choose from the bikes available at the time.

You can rent helmets in all sizes for a one-off fee of:- 3 € for a rental of 1-2 days- 6 € for a rental of 3 or more days.

The cheaper rate only applies to consecutive days rental of the same bike.If you return the bike for a day, we will calculate the rate once again starting from the first day after the break. buses: "Bus drivers are not obliged to allow bikes on buses, but most will permit you to do so as long as there is enough space."

The rental bikes are not insured against theft. Insurance Companies do not offer this option for commercially used bikes.

The regular rental price does not include any insurance cover. Additional insurance against damages can be purchased separately. The insurance does not cover theft or third-party claims.

Yes. You can purchase additional insurance which will cover for any damage to the bike in excess of a deductible; Not included are theft, vandalism and third-party claims. The person renting the bike must bear the costs for any damage that is not covered by the insurance.</br>The person renting the bike must immediately report any damage caused and have it promptly repaired. Costs from damages caused by a crash, misuse or vandalism are to be paid for right away by the person who rented the bike. Damage costs cannot be deducted from the rental deposit if you continue to rent the bike. Free Motion does not rent out any power meters but we can fit your own power pedals an any of our rentalbikes. If you wish to bring your own crank based powermeter we can fit this on certain models only. Please contact support@free-motion.com to check compatibility.

Tours

If we need to cancel a tour for any reason, we will contact you in due time and, if possible, reschedule for another date.

No, all tours start at the FM Shop in Playa del Ingles.

If you already have a rental bike and would like to try a different model at the same time we can give you 30% discount on the second bike.

In this case you will receive the discount on the third tour only- a retroactive discount on the 2 previous tours is not possible.

Participation in our Road Bike, MTB & E-MTB tours the minimum age is 16 years.
For E-Bike tours the minimum age is 12 years.

Free Motion only has a warranty as a dealer so you need to register your new bike on the manufacturer`s website to activate your warranty.

Yes, we send bikes to other islands in the Canaries for 40€.

The Canary Islands belong to a special tax zone. Therefore, you may have to pay custom fees when shipping to the mainland and other EU countries.

The rental bikes are checked and serviced between each rental and replaced by the latest models after a year. Before being sold, all bikes are completely serviced and equipped with new grips, handlebar tape, saddles and tires. This insures you will receive an almost new bike in excellent condition.

Cannondale: lifetime warranty on the frame and 6 months on components.
Specialized: 2 year warranty on the frame and 6 months on components.

The following steps are required:
1. Please send us your address, complete name, personal ID number and mobile number.
2. We will then send you an invoice with the sum of the sales price you need to wire us as well as our bank account details.
3. We will then confirm that we have received your money and ship the bike.4. You can track the shipment with a tracking number. Shipping takes 7-10 working days.

No. Water bottles, pedals and speedometers are not included in the price. We do sell such parts though.

Yes, you get a 50% discount from the rental price of the bike if you rented it within the same month you buy it.
