The Valley Escapade - E-MTB excursion on Gran Canaria

An adventure through the Barranco de Tirajana ravine! Amazing mountain scenery, historic sites and ocean breeze!

After check-in at the Playa del Inglés Free Motion Hub, we load up and transfer ourselves and our eMTB bikes to our starting point in Sardina. From here we enter the Barranco de Tirajana and begin our gentle climb to the north. The impressive ravine slowly narrows as we approach the spectacular Fortaleza Rock. This is a historic site for the Guanches, the indigenous people of the Canary Islands. Harsh rocky scenery is mixed with abundant palm groves as we climb up from the ravine towards the village of Santa Lucia. This is our lunch-stop for the day.

After restoring our energy levels, we ride across to the other side of the valley and join a scenic dirt track on the western side of the ravine. We follow this undulating trail for a few kilometres in a southerly direction, passing through small hamlets and a few palm oases. The road changes to a fast-paced, rocky downhill section, and eventually brings us to the coastline. We follow the coast back to Playa del Inglés, where we conclude our eMTB tour and can enjoy some well-deserved refreshments!

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY (TD): Most of the ride is TD1, with a few short TD2 sections. (See the Technical Difficulty scale for details.)
FITNESS LEVEL (FL): A Basic-FL is required for this eMTB tour. The ride has many climbs and some of them are relatively long and/or steep, you can use as much or as little e-assistance as you wish! (See the Fitness Level scale for details.)
